Klói the Cat, Kókomjólk’s chocolate milk mascot for the last 25 years, has gotten a sexy make over, reports Vísir. The new – considerably buffer – Klói is meant to be an updated version of the mascot, more in keeping with 2014.

“We take great caution when making changes to Klói,” said MS Iceland Dairies (Mjólkursamsalan) project manager, Baldur Jónsson. “For example we screened ads with the new Klói for two years before we actually put him on the carton.”

The Icelandic Ad Agency (Íslenska auglýsingastofan) is the brain behind the new sexy Klói though this is not the first time the mascot has been changed.

Kókómjólk has been around since 1973 and in 1990 Klói the Cat made his first appearance on chocolate milk cartons in Iceland. The first version of Klói was designed by film maker Jón Axel Egilsson. Eleven years later in 2001, Klói got a facelift to make him appear a little younger.

Since 2001 Klói has remained unchanged… until now.
