Seattle Flight Delayed Because Of Onboard Berserker

Published August 1, 2013

An Icelandic man is in police custody after going berserk on an Icelandair flight en route to Seattle on Wednesday, causing the captain to return to Keflavík airport after less than an hour’s flight.

Shortly after take-off, the man started behaving wildly and ignored the cabin crew’s instructions and please to sit still. Among other things, he tried to open one of the aircraft’s doors, visir.is reports.

After 40 minutes of flying, the airplane was turned around and landed in Keflavík around 19:00, where police greeted the man who was promptly arrested.

Due to regulations, a new crew had to be called out so the plane couldn’t take off again until a couple of hours later.
