Thieving Clubgoers On The Loose

Published June 5, 2013

A group of thieves has hit the nightlife scene in Reykjavík quite hard lately, RÚV reports.

Police says the thieves are mostly after mobile phones, wallets and coats. They grab the opportunity when clubgoers put their belongings aside for a moment or simply look away from them, to dig into their pockets or bags, or simply seize the whole thing.

There have also been several incidents of pocket-picking in the lines outside the clubs.

Not only do the police urge people to hold on tight to their valuables when partying but also to be aware that items offered for sale online these days might very well be stolen goods.
