From Iceland — WOW Air: Design Our Planes

WOW Air: Design Our Planes

Published November 1, 2012

WOW air airlines has just started a contest wherein they invite the general public to design the look for the new additions to their fleet.
In a statement to the press, WOW air has confirmed that they have added a new A320 airbus to their fleet, with three more on the way. The planes themselves are significant, for the fact that their engines are more eco-friendly than previous iterations. The Airbus company claims the engines “are expected to result in at least a 3.5 percent reduced fuel burn over longer sectors, corresponding to an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of around 700 tonnes per aircraft.”
In celebration of this event, WOW air is inviting the general public to take part in a contest designing their new planes:

We want help deciding how we should design the three new additions to our fleet and we would love you to give us some ideas.
Send your designs before 01 December 2012 with the subject line “WOW-Honnun” (which means WOW-Design in Icelandic) to marketing@wow.is, or through the old-school post to WOW air (WOW-Design), Katrínartúni 12, 105 Reykjavík, Iceland.
The winner and a guest of their choice will fly for free with WOW air for an entire year. Three other WOW designs will win a return WOW air flight for two.

The contest page includes a template to use and, while there is no guarantee that the winning design will actually be used for the fleet additions, it is hoped that they will be.
