More Airwaves Artists Announced

Published June 8, 2012

The organisers of the Iceland Airwaves music festival have announced more artists performing, with one especially popular guest joining the line-up.
Iceland Airwaves, which is scheduled for October 31 to November 4, continue to add new acts to the line-up. In a statement sent to the press, they have announced the addition of more foreign and Icelandic acts to be playing this year:

There’s experimental rock group Dirty Projectors (US), British guitar rockers The Vaccines and one of Spencer Krug’s (of Wolf Parade) exciting new projects; Moonface with Finnish kraut-rockers Siinai. From Canada we bring you future pop pair Purity Ring, electro-sonic trio Doldrums and attested buzz band Half Moon Run, who tore it apart at our Great Escape showcase in May. Girlish pop songstresses BOY (DE), exhibitionist pop duo Me and My Drummer (DE), audioscaper Rangleklods (DK), Estonian folk-rockstars Ewert and the Two Dragons and fresh indie-rock/pop trio Nelson Can from Denmark.

On the Icelandic front, some very prominent names are scheduled to perform, including the apparently unstoppable Of Monsters And Men, as well as FM Belfast, Sólstafir, Ólafur Arnalds, Agent Fresco, Brain Police, Mammút, Valdimar and Leaves. Organisers also announce “Post-hardcore scenesters Endless Dark, folk-pop newcomers Tilbury, the progtastic Caterpillarmen, Ampop monkier Biggi Hilmars, self described freak pop project Just Another Snake Cult, rambunctious electro poppers Kiriyama Family, stirring rock ensemble Hudson Wayne, loaded-rock group The Heavy Experience, songsters of folk 1860 and sister act mavericks SíSý Ey.”
