From Iceland — Majority Opposed To Legalising Marijuana

Majority Opposed To Legalising Marijuana

Published November 25, 2011

A recent poll reveals that the majority of Icelanders are against the legalisation of marijuana.
The poll, which was conducted by MMR Research between November 10 and 14 finds that 87% of people are either opposed or very opposed to legalization.
The remaining 12.7% are either in favour or very in favour of marijuana’s legalization. Furthermore the poll finds that three times as many males are in favour of legalization compared to females.
Compared to a similar poll conducted last November, there is an increase of about 4% from the 83% of people opposed to legalisation last year. This suggests that an increased number of people are against the idea of legalisation.
