More Airwaves Artists Announced

The organisers of Iceland Airwaves have announced yet another 50 musicals acts slated to perform at the festival, in addition to the 100 or so already announced.
On the foreign front, there’s Clock Opera (UK), Active Child (US), The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger (US), Esmerine (CA), Random Recipe (CA), 22-Pistepirkko (FI), Hauschka (DE), Nedry (UK/JP), Benjamin Francis Leftwich (UK), Rich Aucoin (CA), Mazes (UK), Veronica Falls (UK), MI-GU (JP), We Were Promised Jetpacks (UK), Consortium Musicum (US), Dad Rocks! (DK), Einar Stray (NO), Iiris (EE), Dustin O’Halloran (UK), The Twilight Sad (UK), and Kreatiivmootor (EE).
Among Icelandic acts, there will be Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hjaltalín, Lay Low, HAM, Reykjavík! (featuring Grapevine editor Haukur S. Magnússon on guitar), Árstíðir, Jónas Sig og Ritvélar Framtíðarinnar, Lára, Prins Póló, Lights on the Highway (a personal favourite of Grapevine music critic Bob Cluness), Sudden Weather Change, Stafrænn Hákon, Cliff Clavin, PORQUESÍ, Saktmóðigur, Weapons, Epic Rain, Coral, Andvari, Fönksveinar, Angist, Carpe Noctum, Náttfari, Steve Sampling, Subminimal, Tonik, Jón Þór, Gunslinger and Gímaldin og félagar.
Organisers report that 60% of the tickets sold so far have been to people overseas. You can buy one yourself at, or get a package deal that includes airfare and hotel accommodation.
