From Iceland — Kick Off Your Airwaves Experience With A Splash At Vesturbærjarlaug

Kick Off Your Airwaves Experience With A Splash At Vesturbærjarlaug

Published October 13, 2010

In a unique start to Airwaves proceedings, German electro troubadours Hundreds will kick off the festivities this evening with a performance in the quirky setting of Vesturbæjarlaug swimming pool. (Hofsvallagata, 107 Reykjavík)
The concerts, which are open to the public as well as festival goers, will be held daily over the course of the Airwaves weekend and will feature music from international bands as well as Icelandic acts Hjálmar and Lay Low.
The swimming pool gets a festival makeover for the event, and guests can enjoy healthy vitamin drinks, relaxing vibes and good sounds under twinkly lights and colourful decorations. And for when you do fancy a dip, those clever Airwaves organisers have installed underwater speakers so you don’t have to miss a beat.
The concerts are free, unless you want to use the swimming pool, for which the regular price of 360ISK applies.
Concerts start daily at 18:00 until Sunday 17
