From Iceland — Icelandic Children Among Europe's Happiest

Icelandic Children Among Europe’s Happiest

Published April 22, 2009

According to the results of a newly released international survey, Icelandic children are the fourth happiest kids in the world.
The survey, conducted by York University researchers for the Child Poverty Action Group, draws from data from 2006. It measures such elements as health, housing and environment, education and subjective wellbeing.
Coming out on top among the countries polled was Holland, followed by Sweden, Norway and then Iceland. At the bottom of the list of 29 European countries were Latvia, Lithuania and Malta.
Most articles on the subject have come from the British press, as the UK came in 24th, much to the dismay of the British press at large.
