Spotlighting Iceland’s breakout artists, Northern Rising offers a glimpse into the chaotic and colourful experiences of Iceland’s most exciting new artists.
Hosted by podcast, radio and Iceland Airwaves veteran Tim Pogo — who has covered the festival in every way, shape and form since 2000 — the series follows a selection of rising acts throughout the festival’s 2024 iteration.
The debut episode features goth revivalists Virgin Orchestra, who broke out with the 2023 album Fragments. Noisy and dark, the band recently welcomed the release of their latest single, “Pathetic Song”, on March 31.
