Nolo

Ívar Björnsson and Jón Lorange form the band Nolo, which has its roots in the suburbs of Reykjavík. The band was formed in the year 2009 and from the beginning they have always been busy creating songs and playing gigs. They have released numerous singles on the site Gogoyoko and have always been unafraid of releasing demos. Early in 2010 the album ‘No-Lo-Fi’ was released by Brak Records, which features 8 tracks and was recorded entirely in their bedroom. The album was praised by critics and received the distinguished Kraumsverðlaun and was also nominated for the Nordic Music Prize. Their second album ‘Nology’ came out in 2011 and got excellent reviews. It is difficult to explain their music but their sound is characterised by mystical yet beauteous ’80s synthesizers.
