Grapevine’s purchases that justify existance (Besides hot dogs)

1
Sæfinnur Sextán Skór Playing Cards. Hjá Magna is a wonderful place, as we’ve discussed before. But when we discovered these playing cards, featuring a famous Icelander from the turn of the century famous for wearing sixteen shoes, we understood Zen. The price said 700 ISK, but Magni often gives discounts. Hjá Magna, Laugavegur 15, 101 Reykjavík. Phone: 552-3011.
2
The Wraith. Before there was The Fast and the Furious, there was Charlie Sheen’s revenge/alien/drag racing 1986 time capsule. Through some fluke in physics and marketing, the DVD is available at Tiger for 400 ISK. Available at Tiger locations on Laugavegur and Kringlan Mall.
3
Sticks. Wooden sticks that stick together. Due to the unusual design of these chopsticks it (should be) easier for us cod-eaters to look cool while enjoying our daily noodles. Two pairs for 550ISK at Kokka, Laugavegur 47, 101 Reykajvík. Phone: 562-0808.
4
Tromp. The superhero of candy bars, the local treat Tromp. Liquorice, chocolate, marzipan…you name it, and it’s there. Whatever is not included in the bar itself they’ve tried to add into the post-modern package design. Tromp, starting from 49ISK, available at 10-11 stores, multiple locations.
