On Sunday, April 26, search and rescue teams found a dead man near Háifoss waterfall in Skeiða- og Gnjúpverjahreppur, South Iceland. The South Iceland police announced the news in a statement.
Around 19:00, the police received a report about an unconscious man near the waterfall. First responders were dispatched on the highest priority. The man was found dead, the statement reads.
On Tuesday, April 21, a thorough search began when a man did not return to his accommodation. The search was called off when it proved inconclusive. It has not been confirmed whether the person in question is the same as who was found.
Following the spot’s appearance in Stranger Things, Háifoss’ popularity is predicted to surge.
