Bird Shuts Down

Bird has closed its doors for the last time, the bar and event venue announced on their social media on November 10.  Located on the corner of Tryggvagata and Naustin, Bird was opened in early 2024, taking over the former Frederiksen.

Honouring their final night, Bird hosted an eight-act concert. In the days before, Bird served as one of eight Iceland Airwaves’ official venues.

Bird’s spokespeople did not specify a reason for the closing, instead claiming that, “Conditions made this decision inevitable,” in their statement.

The bar now joins a laundry list of restaurants and bars closing down in 2025, including Kaffi Ó-le, Brút, and Brewdog.
