The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration reports that visibility will be poor on Hellisheiði and in Þrengslin due to a southeastern snowstorm, particularly between 11:00 and 14:00, after which rain is expected in those areas.
In the southwest, icy conditions are expected on Þrengslin, Hvalfjörður, Krýsuvíkurvegur, Vatnsleysustrandarvegur, and other routes. Snow cover remains in Kjós, and icy patches are common on other roads.
In the south, icy patches are reported between Vík and Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Elsewhere, most routes have icy conditions or patches of ice, with occasional snow cover.
In the northeast and the east, many roads are impassable and closed, with icy conditions widespread in the north and in the Westfjords.
In the north, snow cover remains on Öxnadalsheiði and Ólafsfjarðarvegur, with icy conditions on many other roads. Víkurskarð has been closed due to snow.

Note: The Reykjavík Grapevine is broke. We need money. Recently we had to inform all of our journalists that we won’t be able to afford their work unless our fortunes change. It has been our purpose to bring journalism and cultural coverage of Iceland to the rest of the world for almost 24 years, and while business has always been difficult, it has become ever more so in the past few years, making it harder to fulfil our purpose. Any amount will help. More will help more. Donate here.
