
The emergency department at Landspítali is expected to be very busy today due to accidents caused by icy conditions, and delays may occur, reports Vísir. Around 30 people had already sought treatment for such accidents this morning.
Hazardous icy conditions are affecting the Reykjavík area, and both city workers and staff from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (Vegagerðin) were out salting roads this morning.
Twenty-six people had visited the emergency department this morning, with injuries ranging from broken bones to head trauma, according to Andri Ólafsson, the hospital’s spokesperson.
“It is expected that the emergency department will be very busy today, and delays may occur,” Andri Ólafsson told Vísir.
