Construction of the Starbucks café at Laugavegur 66-68 in Reykjavík is well underway, with signage for the international coffee chain already in place, reports Vísir.
The news that Berjaya Food International had secured the rights to open and operate Starbucks cafés in Iceland were announced last August. Around the same time, the company also revealed plans for significant expansion in the Nordic region, having obtained the rights to run Starbucks outlets in Denmark and Finland.
“We are delighted to expand our presence in the Nordic markets alongside our long-term, trusted partner, Berjaya Food Berhad, and to contribute to a thriving coffee community in the region,” said Duncan Moir, President of Starbucks for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, in the announcement.
