Do not fear, the weekend is almost here and with it, the pleasant weather keeps on. The rest of the week will be marked by low temperatures but with the sun peeking through and a promise for no road-sign-flying winds.

According to the latest forecast from the Icelandic Met Office, the sun will be out and shining throughout Friday afternoon, reaching 0ºC in the Reykjavík area. The weekend will be a bit rougher on the bones: On Saturday temperatures will reach -5 and on Sunday -7.

Go for a walk; no more excuses to mellow in your winter ‘depresh’. Get your too-expensive-but-so-fashionable puffer jacket on, the matching and itchy gloves and hat your grandma made for you, and hit the parks, for temperatures will get low but very little snow or wind are expected until the end of the week.

In the north, no number of thermals and hand warmers will be enough to let you ignore -20°C in the Akureyri area. However, it might be a great time for some winter wonderland activities like sledding with the kids, ice skating with the only friend you have left from childhood or drinking mulled wine until you talk over all your issues with your mother.
