One of our favourite painters, Þrándur Þórarinsson, has just released a new painting that crystallises the Klausturgate scandal in his own signature fashion.

The painting, called “Klausturfokk”, captures all six of the parliamentarians recorded speaking abusively of their colleagues earlier this week, in a style that is uniquely and unmistakably Þrándur’s. The religious motif is a reference to the name of the bar where they were recorded, Klaustur; the Icelandic word for “cloister”.

The official unveiling will be held at Gallery Port tomorrow, from 16:00.

Below, you can see a smaller scale version of the painting. If you’re in a public space, maybe make sure your back faces a wall before clicking.
