The weather in the south and southeast of Iceland will not be conducive travel tomorrow, as high winds are once again expected to touch down.

As the latest weather alert announces, winds across South Iceland will range from 18m/s to 25 m/s, with gusts reaching speeds of up to 45m/s near mountains. In the southeast, conditions will be similar, although gusts there could blow as strong as 50m/s.

This weather warning applies to the area from 3:00 to 20:00 tomorrow. As such, it is highly inadvisable to travel by car through these areas during this time.

Where the rest of Iceland is concerned, we can expect plenty of sleet and freezing rain. The north, northeast and east may also see snowfall, as will also be the case for the west.

As always before traveling, always check the weather at the Icelandic Met Office, and see that road conditions are clear before you get behind the wheel.
