If you have ever dreamed of being a chauffeur — or even better, chauffeur to President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson — your chance has finally come.

On the official page for the Icelandic government, a classified ad has been posted for the position. Duties include being a driver for the Office of the President (which presumably includes more than just the President himself), taking care of the cars, and helping out with other duties at the Sóleyjargata office and of course at the official residence at Bessastaðir.

Aspiring chauffeurs must have a good command of Icelandic and English, have the necessary driving licences and be in good physical condition. While not required, it is also desirable to have experience in the fields of security and law enforcement. You must, however, have a good knowledge of computers and be punctual.

As chauffeur, your immediate supervisor will be the Presidential Secretary.

If you’re interested in the position, you are advised to send your CV to the Presidential Offices at Sóleyjargata 1, specifically labelled “Bifreiðastjóri” no later than July 2. You can also send your CV to umsokn@forseti.is. For more information, contact Presidential Secretary Örnólfur Thorsson at 540 4400.

We would add that whatever you do, don’t park illegally.
