Sigur Rós’ brainchild the music festival Norður og Niður announced a serious lineup update today. What is already looking like the go-to even of the year just got better. Did you know that Jarvis Cocker is playing? How amazing is Jarvis Cocker, I wanna take him home, I wanna give him babies. Then we can go to the supermarket and help the aged.

But anyway ,…

The bands added today are Peaches, Golden Globe winning composer Dustin O’Halloran, “Íslandsvinurinn” Alex Somers (also the other half of Alex & Jónsi), silent movie connoisseurs amiina and other cool things.

More than just music, the festival also promises “art installations, dance pieces, film screenings, spoken word and impromptu happenings.”

Tickets go on sale Thursday October 26, better not miss out or Jónsi will write a sad ballad about you sitting at home while we all have fun with Jarvis Cocker. Jarvis Cocker, yeah.

“Norður og niður” is also a fun old-man-way to say “go to hell”, which is also cool.

The festival takes place on December 27-30.
