Cat Burglar Burgles Cats

An unknown culprit broke into a shelter run by the association for feral cats Monday night. The organisation Villikettir is run with the goal of improving the lives of alley cats and other non-domesticated felines.

In recent weeks, the organisation has had their hands full with rescuing 70 cats that had moved into a house in Reykjavík. Municipal authorities and the owner of the house had requested the assistance of the group in putting an end to the cat colony.

“We were met with a horrifying sight this morning. The temporary cat shelter we had been using for the cats from the 70-cat-home has been destroyed. The six cats that were there are terrified and four others are gone/missing,” the group wrote on their Facebook page. “Now we need to try to find the missing ones.”
