A young woman who parked in an offloading zone was met with a swift and decisive response from parties unknown.

Bad parking is a well-known issue in Iceland, to the extent that a Facebook group called “The Worst Parked Car” is never short of posts of photos Icelanders have taken of other Icelanders parking poorly. However, one recent post to the group took matters to the next level.

A young woman had parked in a clearly-marked offloading zone at Garðaskóli primary school and, as can be seen in the above photo, parties unknown took it upon themselves to wrap her car in a significant amount of plastic.

“I thought this was a brilliant idea,” Egill Róbertsson, who took the photo and posted it in the group, told Stundin, although he denied any involvement. “I just showed up there and it was already done. I don’t know who they were.”

The young woman in question reportedly took the punishment well, even though it took her ten minutes to get her car unwrapped.

While most Icelanders in the group applauded the street justice, not everyone was on board. One commenter quipped, for example, “A full grown man wrapping a car in plastic … please do not reproduce.”
