Concert To Be Held Inside Volcano

If you have ever wanted to attend a concert being held inside a literal volcano, now is your chance.

Organisers of the Secret Solstice music festival have announced that this June 18, a lucky 20 guests will be transported by helicopter from Reykjavík to Þríhnúkagígur volcano. They will then be lowered into an underground chamber within the volcano itself, and treated to “an acoustic performance by a world-famous artist”. The artist in question will be announced well before the event.

Þríhnúkagígur has not erupted in about 4,000 years, so guests can be relatively secure in knowing they will not be swallowed by molten magma during the performance, which organisers promise will be “extremely mind-blowing”.
