A new arrival to Iceland made quite a first impression on visitors and locals alike late last night.

Vísir reports that, at about one o’ clock last night, a passenger on board the Flybus from Keflavík to Reykjavík phoned the police to inform that the driver of the bus was intoxicated.

Shortly thereafter, the police received another call, this time from another passenger on the same bus. Rather than also expressing concerns about an intoxicated driver, this passenger said that the bus was stopped in Garðabær, and one of the passengers was attacking the driver.

Police arriving on the scene broke up the fight, and the passenger who was attacking the driver accused him of driving drunk. The attacker was arrested and removed from the bus.

Despite an obvious case of projection being at play here, the police nonetheless gave the driver a breathalyser test. His blood-alcohol level measured 0.00, and his level of intoxication was therefore not investigated further.
