RVX, the lead visual effects company for Everest, is led by Daði Einarsson, himself certainly no slouch when it comes to special effects work, and drew critical acclaim for his work on the movie Gravity. Over half of the 900 of the visual effects shots were filmed in Iceland, and all of them were supervised by Daði and RVX.

Daði and the rest of us will nonetheless have to wait until January for the actual nominees to be chosen, “but it’s wonderful to be a part of this group,” he said. This marks the first time Daði has made it this far into the nomination process.
