Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds is a bit taken aback by how Apple chose to use one of his songs in a new commercial.
Ólafur is no stranger to composing music for advertisements and movies. Amongst numerous other projects, he has composed music for the movies Another Happy Day and The Hunger Games, and for the television series Broadchurch, which earned him a BAFTA.
However, how an advertiser will end up using his music can come as a surprise, even to him. Apple’s new commercial for Apple Music is one such example.
Ólafur’s reaction to seeing the ad was fairly succinct:
When they told me they wanted to use my song for the new Apple commercial, this was not what i had in mind.. lol..? https://t.co/qIUyoB0BDU
