Support for the Independence Party is dropping, while the Pirate Party has the greatest level of support for seven months running now.

According to a new poll from Market and Media Research, the Pirate Party has the greatest level of support, currently polling at 34.2%. This is similar to the numbers they got during the previous poll, conducted last month.

At the same time, the Independence Party – which shares the ruling coalition with the Progressive Party – fell from 25.3% during the last poll and 21.7% today. The Progressive Party hovers at 10.4%, making the combined support of both parties still slightly lower than that of the Pirate Party by itself.

Where other parties are concerned, the Left-Greens saw an upswing between polls, from 8.3% to 11.8%; the Social Democrats stayed relatively unchanged, going from 11.8% to 11.3%; and Bright Future saw an uptick from 5.9% to 6.5%.

Barring a collapse of government, the next parliamentary elections will be held in 2017.
