That’s a bold headline. Well, in fact, it’s a bold claim. This 20 minute interview with Leoncie put me in a weird position: there was no way to extract any quote without the complete context of the interview.

On April 27, Leoncie claims a death threat was left under her gate. Roughly translated, the threat read, “Get the fuck out of Iceland before you are killed. You Indian freak.” The letter was written with poor Icelandic grammar–the sentence is notably missing a “you” in the dative case.

Leoncie, AKA Icy Spicy Leoncie, is a singer, songwriter, and musician that has been featured on Tosh.0, Rolling Stone Argentina, and various online music magazines. Her unwavering confidence and claims of racism have put her in the media spotlight–never far from controversy.

In 2012, she released an album titled, ‘Gay World’, which is what made her death-threat claim so peculiar.

Listen to this 20 minute interview with Leoncie. Other than her insistence that the Gay Rights Association, Samtökin ’78, is behind the death threats. She also claims Björk stole parts of her biography. She says it’s because she’s outstanding, and based on her comments, she’s right. They stand out.

She was worried that I was working for the Gay Rights Association and that I would twist her words so I have posted the interview in its entirety:
