After the bus driver of 57A in Akureyri stopped to call in a car accident on a rural road, the bus passengers rushed out to help the victims until help arrived because humanity is not dead.

Mbl.is reports that bus company Strætó bs sent out a thank you note to all those who helped out.

“We at Strætó bs want to take the opportunity to thank the passengers of 57A on its way to Akureyri around noon yesterday, for their assistance and patience regarding the situation that arose on the way up north,” the note said.

The car in question spun on ice and drove off the road near Vagla farm by Blönduhlíð, shortly before the bus spotted them and bus driver, Þórdís Mjöll Reynisdóttir, called for help.

The passengers were reportedly very helpful and worked together to tend to and calm the driver and car passengers involved in the accident.

“Additionally [Strætó bs] hopes those involved in the crash were not seriously injured and that they make a quick recovery,” the note said.
