From Iceland — Solidarity Protest In Copenhagen On Monday

Solidarity Protest In Copenhagen On Monday

Published November 16, 2014

Describing the situation in Iceland as “dire”, a group of people has announced a protest event by Iceland’s embassy in Copenhagen on Monday.

The announcement emphasizes under-financed health and education systems as reasons to protest, as well as environmental issues. Perceived arrogance and favoritism within government are cited as well.

The event is supposed to take place at 5 pm on Monday, coinciding with Jæja’s third protest event in front of Alþingi. This time, the event seems dedicated to the Minister of Interior, Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir, titled “Jæja, Hanna Birna”.

The event was announced on Facebook. As of this writing, just over seventy people have announced their participation.
