Police answered a domestic dispute call yesterday to find the couple in question locked in a heated fight over sock ownership, reports Vísir.

The middle aged couple, who have lived together for many years in Fellahverfi, Reykjavík, were up in arms because they could not agree which one of them owned a pair of socks. Police were called to the scene when the argument escalated.

The police were not able to resolve the issue though the couple calmed slightly upon the police’s arrival. The man packed a bag and left the house with the intention to spend the night elsewhere.

It remains unknown to whom the socks belong.
