Police were called to an apartment building in East Reykjavík on Sunday evening, after a strange man let himself into an apartment and took a seat on the sofa, DV reports. Obviously surprised by the unusual visit, the frightened residents locked themselves in the bathroom. They may have still been hiding there when the police were called to the scene by another resident, who reported that the man had been sleeping in the stairwell for four hours.
The man was apparently unable to account for himself, and was arrested at the scene. Police have taken him to a detention center where he will be held until they are able to question him.
