From Iceland — Apologies For Massive Honking

Apologies For Massive Honking

Published October 1, 2013

Fire alarm system on board patrol vessel Þór went off late on Monday night and set off the ship’s foghorns.

The bellowing from the horns could be heard in most parts of Reykjavík, RÚV reports.
In an announcement, the Icelandic Coast Guard apologises to residents for the disturbance.

A malfunction caused the ship’s fire alarm to go off for no reason; repair is underway in order to prevent further inconvenience to Reykjavík’s residents.
