Following in the footsteps of such bands as Coldplay and Snow Patrol, Sigur Rós members Jón Þór “Jónsi” Birgisson, Georg Hólm, and Orri Páll Dýrason will appear in season four of ‘Game of Thrones,’ Entertainment Weekly confirms. The bans is currently filming their appearance on set in Croatia.
There’s been no word thus far on what the nature of the band’s cameo will be, but ‘Game of Thrones’ showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are known to be big fans and say they often listen to Sigur Rós while filming in Iceland. In the past, bands such as The National and The Hold Steady have been asked to record soundtrack songs inspired by the series.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ appearance will be Sigur Rós’ second in the last year; they composed a song for, and appeared in, the final episode of ‘The Simpsons’ last season.
