From Iceland — Increased Number Of Passports Issued

Increased Number Of Passports Issued

The number of passports issued in March 2013 increased by 37.6% from the previous year, MBL.is reports.
The National Registry of Iceland issued 5,536 last month as opposed to 4,024 passports issued in March 2012, according to an official press release from Statistics Iceland. Perhaps this is due to the fact that as of February 2013, the validity of Icelandic passports extended from five to ten years.
That, or Icelanders really just want to get the fuck out of dodge.
