Dog Show Canceled Due To Poison Scare

Published September 24, 2012

A dog show scheduled to be held in Kópavogur last Saturday was canceled when it was suspected that someone may have attempted to poison the dogs.
DV reports that when participants arrived at the Gustur arena in Kópavogur to begin setting up for the dog show, pieces of lifrapylsa – a kind of sausage made from sheep liver and oats – were found strewn both outside and inside the arena.
It was immediately suspected that someone had poisoned the lifrapylsa beforehand, even though there was no conclusive proof. As a precautionary measure, the dog show was canceled.
Many dog owners kept their pets in the car to prevent them from eating the lifrapylsa, and two police squad cars were called to the scene. Investigations are still ongoing, and there is still much left unclear about the case.
