From Iceland — Iceland Airwaves Announces More Artists

Iceland Airwaves Announces More Artists

Published July 5, 2012

The organisers of Iceland Airwaves have announced more artists to perform at this fall’s music festival.
Iceland Airwaves, which is scheduled for October 31 to November 4, continue to add new acts to the line-up. In a statement sent to the press, they have announced the addition of more foreign and Icelandic acts to be playing this year:

From across oceans we’re importing aggressive rock veterans Swans (US), hip-hopping wayfarers Shabazz Palaces (US), groovy girls THEESatisfaction (US), and artificer Mo Kenney (CA). The Barr Brothers (CA) bring us Americana folk via Montreal, you can get a glimpse of the kaleidoscopic-colored music courtesy of Kwes (UK), listen to music masons, Moss (NL), one of Rolling Stone’s “Fricke Picks” in 2010, Thee Attacks (DK) and get hit with the gusto of Ghostpoet (UK).
From our sprightly little island we’ve got cult rockers HAM, electro-legend Hermigervill, synthesizing 80’s throwback Berndsen, and the singing sweeties, My Bubba & Mi. Ojba Rasta is “Jamaican” us crazy with their reggae influences, Sudden Weather Change got some moxie, and Cheek Mountain Thief brings their own vigor and verve to the roster. Now keep fanning yourself! We’ve also got pop princess Thorunn Antonia, songsmith Elín Ey, the totally rad Eldar and folk maestro Ásgeir Trausti.
