From Iceland — Laugardalslaug Gets Major Makeover

Laugardalslaug Gets Major Makeover

Published April 19, 2012

The Laugardalslaug swimming pool has undergone quite a bit of work, including the building of a “wipe-out” waterslide.
Laugardalslaug opens again today, after being closed for three days now. Morgunblaðið reports that during this time, construction crews have worked on re-painting, installing new handrails, and other general repairs.
However, part of this makeover has included the building of a new waterside and the inclusion of a new kiddie pool for younger guests. Construction does not stop there, however – another area of the pool is being added to the eastern portion, which will be finished in mid-May.
The pool is open today from 8:00 until 22:00, which is the same time the pool is normally open on weekends. This is due to today being the First Day of Summer in Iceland, a national holiday.
