Murder Suspect In Custody

Published February 6, 2012

Police report that they have in custody a man who turned himself in for murdering an acquaintance.
According to the Facebook post from the capital area police, a man in his thirties and in a “strange condition” walked into the police station this morning and recounted what had transpired at his home in Hafnarfjörður.
While the exact events were unclear, police went to the man’s home and discovered a woman, in her forties, who was already dead. She had clearly sustained multiple injuries. Police also report that she and the suspect had known each other for years, and was a guest in his home when the attack took place. An edged weapon was taken from the scene.
The suspect has previously been dealt with by police. As the investigation is still in the beginning stages, the police have declined to give any further information at this time.
