A single from Björk Guðmundsdóttir’s upcoming album is now available online. Tickets for the world premiere of her Biophilia live show in Manchester, UK are also still available.
The album, Biophilia, will be her first in four years, when Volta was released. Due this fall, a single from the album, Crystalline, can be heard here. The entire album, Eyjan reports, was made in cooperation with the Apple computer company. Two new songs will be released each month for the iPad.
In addition, tickets are still available to see Björk perform songs from Biophilia at a special concert in Manchester, UK.
“Björk will be performing Biophilia tracks and music from her genre-defying back catalogue with a small group of unique musical collaborators,” the organisers say in part. “Including an award-winning Icelandic female choir. The show will feature a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments, among them a bespoke pipe organ that accepts digital information and a pendulum that harnesses the earth’s gravitational pull to create musical patterns.”
