From Iceland — Get Your Business Out of the Starting Blocks

Get Your Business Out of the Starting Blocks

Published November 18, 2010

Startup Weekend Iceland steam-rolls its way to town this weekend for a 54-hour training fest that aims to foster the networking skills, resource base and practical knowledge needed to transform business dreams into a reality.
The event is open to anyone interested in the local entrepreneurial community and previous events have attracted participants from diverse technical and non-technical backgrounds, such as software developers, engineer, lawyers and business investors.  Startup Weekend provides an opportunity to connect with other passionate and skilled individuals, and perhaps even find a co-founder or two to get ideas off the drawing board.
Founded in 2007 by a passionate group of entrepreneurs, Start Up Weekend is a globally focused, non-profit organisation based in Seattle. Their mission is to help other entrepreneurs around the world to facilitate innovation and business development. As of May 2010, Startup Weekend has helped educate over 15,000 entrepreneurs at over 115 events, resulting in over 590 new startup ventures.
There are still spaces available for this weekend’s events, sign up at iceland.startupweekend.org.
