Ian Livingstone Is Coming To The You Are In Control Conference

Role-player gaming pioneer Ian Livingstone will be a keynote speaker at this year’s You Are In Control conference held October 1-2 in Reykjavík. You Are In Control is an international conference which focuses on digital business developments in the fields of music, media, art and gaming.
Along with his friend Steve Jackson, Ian became the original distributor of the Dungeons & Dragons gaming franchise, co-founded Games Workshop, and created the Fighting Fantasy series. Their company has gone on to establish becoming a leader in creating and distributing role-playing game series. Ian also serves as Life President of Eidos which has created widely popular franchises such as Lara Croft and Hitman.
At the conference, Ian will discuss his vast experience in entrepreneurship and his corporate success, as well as the importance of inspiration and taking risks when launching an enterprise. “Be positive. Don’t take yourself too seriously,” Ian says, “An entrepreneur is quite different from a businessman. An entrepreneur is a business pioneer.”
Other speakers in attendance at the conference will be Annamarie Wills, Chief Executive of the Creative Industries Development Agency and Xavier Troussard, Acting Director of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture at the European Commission.
Now in its third year, You Are In Control is an annual event hosted by the Icelandic Music Export along with the Centre For Icelandic Art, Iceland Design Centre, Reykjavik International Film Festival, Icelandic Film Centre, Icelandic Gaming Industry and the Icelandic Literature Fund.
