Gunnar Lárus Hjálmarsson, better known as Dr. Gunni, announced on his website today that he will not be the Chairman of Strætó BS, Reykjavík’s local bus company.
“I will not be chairman of Strætó,” says Dr. Gunni, “just the Deputy City Representative. Only the Main City Representative may take that job, due to some old legislative reform.” Dr. Gunni was appointed as the Deputy City Rep on June 15th as a member of the new majority in Reykjavík, The Best Party. It was also suggested, at the time, that he would be Chairman of Strætó. However, due to the mentioned legislation, it appears that the job will go to Einar Örn Benediktsson.
Dr. Gunni does not seem to be upset about this ruling, and says on his blog, “I have no hard feelings.”
