Artist to Conduct Light Show on Snæfellsjökull

The German artist Gert Hof intends to send the world a message about global warming by performing a light show on the mountain Snæfellsjökull this autumn. Accompanying him will be Icelandic writer Bergljót Arnalds, who will compose music for the project.
Hof told Vísir that he became enchanted with Snæfellsjökull during a previous visit to Iceland, and is especially confident in the participation he’ll receive for the project. “We need the right people for this and we have the right people here. We also need the right political circumstances. People want this. Third of all, it’s an unbelievably beautiful location. And finally, the work needs to send the right message, and that’s the huge environmental problem facing the entire planet.”
Bergljót Arnalds and Páll Ásgeir Davíðsson had the idea to bring Hof to Iceland, and have brought on board Northern Lights Energy for assistance. Bergljót intends to compose music utilizing sounds from the glacier on top of the mountain itself.
Hof has conducted similar light shows elsewhere in the world, but is perhaps best known for the one he did around Acropolis in Greece.
