Yoko Ono Offers Free Weekend to Víðey

On the occasion of the lighting of the Peace Tower (shown above), Yoko Ono is offering free trips to Víðey from 9 to 11 October. There will also be a concert honoring the memory of John Lennon, at the Reykjavík Art Museum, on Friday, 22:00.
The Peace Tower will be lit on the occasion of Lennon’s birthday. According to Víðey’s webpage, “the ferry departs at 20:00 to Viðey island from Skarfabakki pier at Sundahöfn harbour. A guided tour in Viðey island where history, nature and art are combined in this unique tour. The tour is dedicated to Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower that gives light and power to the realization of World Peace, which was John Lennon’s lifetime wish.”
The Peace Tower itself will be lit at 20:00, and every night thereafter until 8 December.
At 22:00, the tribute concert to Lennon begins at the Reykjavík Art Museum. Vísir lists the program of songs and performers as follows:
