Introbeats is a constant presence on the Reykjavík music scene. Whether DJing in Prikið and Kaffibarinn, producing his own tracks a mixes, or scratching with Icelandic rap acts, he’s a very familiar face to anyone who spends time in 101 — especially after dark.
We asked Introbeats to make us a DJ mix ahead of his set at the reopened Nasa venue. He had to say:
“I’ve been making my own music for almost 16 years now as well as DJing for 20 years. I’ll be doing a DJ set this year, and I guess I’ll be playing some bouncy hard house tunes. I’m pretty stoked that Nasa is back. I’ve never fully understood what the f**k they closed it in the first place. It’s the best venue for bigger events, and I’ve heard that Harpa is too expensive for regular bands to do events.”
“The mix I’ve made is more like warm-up sounds to listen to before coming to my set at Nasa. It sets the vibe before the bouncy journey of my set. If you’re expecting to hear the latest hits, don’t show up — but if you’re open to hear new sounds and dance your anus of, you’re in for a treat.”
See Introbeats at Nasa on Friday Nov 6th, 02.20-03:00.
