From Iceland — There's No 'Jungle' in Iceland!

There’s No ‘Jungle’ in Iceland!

Lace up your roller skates and chuck them back in your attic, the soulful UK group ‘Jungle’ has just announced that will not appear at Iceland Airwaves this weekend. The group was scheduled to play a midnight set at Gamla Bíó on Saturday night but have opted for a last-minute TV-appearance instead, according to a source at the festival.

We inquired with Airwaves’ production coordinator about this particularly special TV opportunity, who directed our attention to their Facebook page for more information. However, all that offered was a splattering of complaints about a last-minute cancellation in Cambridge last week.

Before you start whining about “sell-outs” and “loyalty to your fans” (their words, not ours), take note that Icelandic champions Retro Stefson have stepped up to fill the cold, funk-free void. So cheer up kids and remember that you’re in Iceland now. Whose loss is it, really?
