Track Premier: Sin Fang “Candyland” (Mikael Lind Remix)
Parker Yamasaki

Six months ago, from the ever-deepening swamp of SoundCloud, a single lily surfaced. It was called “Candyland,” the first single off of Sin Fang’s most recent album ‘Spaceland’ album released in September. The track bobs around the brain, each chorus bursts open with accompaniment by Jónsi of Sigur Rós.

In the spirit of growth and transformation, we are pleased to premier this remix of “Candyland” by Sin Fang’s Morr Music label mate Mikael Lind. Mikael is an experimental ambient composer who works with simple instruments to form complex arrangements. His compositions bloom in layers, slowly laying listeners into thick structures of electronic interactions. As he puts it, his music expresses the “beauty in both the simple and the sublime…complexity is a wonderful thing, but should never be an end in itself.” Like the water lily, enjoy it for its surface beauty or get lost in its micro-universe.

Both Mikael Lind and Sin Fang will perform at Airwaves this year:

Mikael Lind:
November 3 at Bíó Paradís (14:00) and Smekkleysa (15:00)
November 5 at The Nordic House (15:00)

Sin Fang:
November 3 at Marina Hotel (18:30)
November 3 at Gamla Bíó (00:20)
